MediaOS

data-signature="media" · recommended density comfortable (cinema tier on TV)

MediaOS is the one product that leaves the desk. On a phone or laptop it behaves like its siblings; on a television it switches to the cinema scale and a dedicated TV kit driven entirely by a remote.

What it leans on

  • TV kit — fifteen remote-driven primitives (TVScene, TVRail, TVHero, TVCard, TVMediaControls, and the rest) on a spatial focus engine with safe-area handling.
  • MediaHero and MediaCard for cinematic, image-led layouts.
  • data-scale="cinema" to scale type and spacing for viewing across a room.

Character

Cinematic and focus-first. At ten feet there is no pointer, so a single, unmistakable focus state moves with the remote and everything is sized to be read from the sofa. Motion is used to guide focus, never to decorate.

Watch for

  • Design for the focus ring, not the cursor. Every reachable element must show focus clearly and predictably under directional navigation.
  • Respect the safe area — televisions overscan. The TV kit handles this; don't defeat it with absolute positioning.
  • Keep text large and contrast high. The cinema scale exists for a reason; do not shrink back toward desktop sizes.
